Oggy, an anthropomorphic cat, would prefer to spend his days watching television and eating but is continually pestered by three roaches: Joey, Marky and Dee Dee. The cockroaches' slapstick mischief ranges from plundering Oggy's refrigerator to hijacking the train he just boarded. In many situations, Oggy is also helped by Jack, who is more violent and short-tempered than him and is also annoyed by the cockroaches. Bob, a short-tempered bulldog, also appears in the show and is Oggy's neighbor.
Some of the characters make a cameo in Xilam's other shows, such as Zig & Sharko and The Daltons and in the film, Go West! A Lucky Luke Adventure. The eponymous characters make a debut in the Space Goofs episode "Venus Junior", where they are seen on the aliens' television. In the second season, "Space Sailors" has a gag where the cockroaches ride on by Etno, in the aliens' flooded house. Oggy, the cockroaches and Jack appear as drawings in "Doodle", albeit with a differently colored Jack, and make another cameo in the episode "The Alien Show".
Oggy And The Cockroaches (Complete)
Color Conflict is the 56th episode of Season 5 and the 328th episode overall. It takes place in the Stone Age. After seeing Jack get hammered all the time, Oggy invents paint, to draw strategic plans for hunting The Woolly mammoth. But his plans don't work out because the cockroaches sabotage Oggy's drawings.
They spot another, and the tactics change having the plan of attack staying the same. Having thwarted many times, the cockroaches decide to change Oggy's paintings, having the brainless Jack go bonkers to Oggy's shock. Jack immediately gets trampled, and a new painting plan has to change.
With the new painting plan now set, the cockroaches decide to have another go, this time, changing the plan of attack of different objects. Jack gets trampled by the mammoth again, and Oggy ensues a chase with the cockroaches, having to paint some cave paintings, as Oggy catches them.
Having enough of Oggy's painting plans, Jack decides he should have his own plan, but having another beat up by the mammoth as his drawing plans fall into a dream, with Oggy trying to persuade him out. The episode ends as the cockroaches free the frozen mammoth, and Jack still going painting crazy as his dream goes on.
Oggy's defining trait is arguably his laziness, enjoying watching television, eating and on a couple of instances, listening to music. As usual, Oggy always chasing the cockroaches around the house when everytime they keep getting on his nerves. According to online descriptions, he is fond of the ideal home, game shows, listening to polka records, and eating chips in the bath. In addition, he is mentioned to fantasize about attaining a self-cleaning oven or a 12 gear vacuum on "The Wheel of Fortune". He also displays a love for gardening and board games.
Oggy usually wins in many number sports except in The Bathtub Race. He won in Formula 1, Run, Olivia, Run!, To Serve and Protect, Shift that Chariot Oggy!, Mister Cat, From Mumbai with Love, and many more except in The Bathtub Race as Dee Dee won in that. In Winner Takes All and its remaster, Oggy claims that he won Jack in the chess match after Joey stole the pawn and disturbed their sleep. However after a fight between the brothers, Oggy concluded that he didn't win after he saw the cockroaches with the pawn.
Jack is Oggy's neighbor who helps Oggy by attacking the cockroaches. He is very adventurous and brave, however he can also be villanous and dominating which often gets Oggy into trouble. Many have speculated Jack is Oggy's cousin, however this is never directly stated or even implied in canon as Jack was in a romantic relationship with Monica, Oggy's twin sister. He is more of a friend or partner of Oggy than a neighbor, as he is seen living in Oggy's House in some of the episodes (mostly in the first two seasons).
Olivia is Oggy's neighbor and his reccuring love interest. She is a white cat with a little pink spot on her belly. She is also a nature lover. Oggy likes her very much but is often seen as nervous when around her. Oggy can't swat the cockroaches with his red swatter in the presence of Olivia in some episodes (Like Oggy Goes Green!). Eventually, they grow comfortable around each other. Oggy later marries her. Every time Olivia kisses him, he becomes extremely shy often melting, fainting and stop moving like a statue.
Oggy holds an intense grudge against Dee Dee, Marky, and Joey, which goes back to even when he was a baby (revealed in the episode "It's a Small World" or "Itsy-Bitsy Oggy). Throughout the course of the series, Oggy has chased the insect trio innumerable times. While he has lost and fell victim to the cockroaches in quite a few episodes, he can reign victorious and defeat them (especially in later seasons). Occasionally, however, Oggy is forced to work together with them, especially when Jack is played out as the antagonist, like in: "The Dictator", "General Jack", "Life's a Beach", and "Oggy's Beach Club". He also teams up with them against Bob ("High-Rise Nightmare" and (Un)Happy Camper!) Oggy will sometimes display sympathy towards the Cockroaches. In "Oggy and the Babies" or "Oggy and the Kittens" he pleads to Jack to spare their lives and in "Lost in Space", "Space Journey" he decides to rescue the Cockroaches from suffocating in space despite being a constant nuisance to him. In short, Oggy has a peculiar love/hate relationship with the cockroaches. In fact, he has also learnt that without them, his life would be very boring. This is proved in episode So Lonely or Alone at Last where he gets rid of the cockroaches, but later he regrets this and realizes that his life isn't the same without them.
The episode was Oggy sitting on his pink beanbag watching TV. Then, the cockroaches come and ask Oggy for some money to go to the movies and watch VENOM: Let there Be you-know-what. Oggy swats them. Joey gets REAL MAD and drinks a potion. The potion makes him giant (kinda similar to Joey and the Magic Bean) and he goes full King Kong/Hulk on Oggy's house. Oggy goes into his shelter and sees what's outside. He then sees a giant roach foot. Joey says, "Oggy! I will get you! I will burn you in hell! YOUR GIRLFRIEND MEANS NOTHING! YOU ARE A FAT, CHUBBY LOSER WHO'S ABOUT TO GUESS WHAT: DIE!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!" He then K.O's and eats Oggy. DeeDee and Marky call Jack for help. Jack thinks it's a prank, but when he gets there, big trouble happens! He tries to avoid Joey's anvils, TNT, pucnhing boxes, chainsaws, etc. And then, he summons Luan with the same ritual Oggy did in the episode "The Ghost Hunter". Luan gets there, and they have sex with each other. Luan gets pregnant and makes tiny Joan babies. Jack, DeeDee, and Marky then bow down to them, promising to be their slaves for all eternity, then Luan stabs Joey and grows a Saiyan tail, gets some full Battle Armor, and gets a Power Ball. Then she transforms into a Great Ape. After that, she destroys the entire planet.
All three cockroaches are voiced by Hugues LeBars. However, Dee Dee was given a deep-toned voice provided by Michel Elias after eating one of the special biscuits in the second series episode, Chatter Box.
Each being named after members of the punk rock the Ramones, the cockroaches are three brothers comprising of Joey, the oldest, being 21 years old, Marky, the middle child, and Dee Dee, the youngest of the three, whose ages are unknown. They live in the air condition vent of Oggy's house which they to travel to different rooms. They enjoy instigating trouble where ever they go. They have even hijacked vehicles for joyrides, such as a dump truck, train, firetruck, and planes ("Rock 'n Roll Altitude", "Panic in the Air", and "First Flight"). They additionally commit crimes willfully on a near-daily basis showing no remorse whatsoever. Like many villains, the cockroaches are sadistic, up to the point they take pleasure from seeing people suffer, whether it be physically or emotionally, examples of this are when Oggy gets beaten up by Bob, the bully of the show, or when the former tears up. In the backstory from the episodes "It's a small world", shows that they have been bullying Oggy since he was a baby, also, weirdly enough, they looked older than him.
Joey is a selfish, vicious and highly sadistic individual. On a few cases, he has even sent at least one of his fellow roaches into action, so he would not have to go himself (e.g., "Mouseagator" and "Mouse Attack"). He is quite devious; possessing no qualms toward cheating ("Sports Fans") and using manipulation (e.g., the aforementioned "Fake News" which also shows that he knows how to edit videos). In addition, there is practically nothing he will not do to get his way. A good example of this is in "Don't Rock the Cradle" and "Oggy the Babysitter" when he attempted to kidnap a baby for ransom, also displaying his avarice. He is additionally revengeful and bad-tempered, sometimes seeking vengeance on Oggy out of anger merely for rubbing him the wrong way. In the cartoon's more recent seasons, Joey is sometimes shown to act harsher toward Dee Dee and Marky. He has even physically harmed them, particularly when they defy or irritate him. Joey is additionally said to metaphorically view things in black-and-white. Despite these traits, according to some official profiles, he would produce an incredibly emotive speech concerning the ultimate fate of all cockroaches if he could talk. It is also noted to canvass how victimized cockroaches will stand up and be emancipated. His end goal is said to hold sway over Oggy's household for himself and "his people."
Like all cockroaches, Joey possesses a big appetite and incredibly low standards of cleanliness, as he is stated to find Oggy's house "much too clean" and is shown to be prone to making messes. He appears to be aware of the fact that he is in a cartoon, as he occasionally looks so directly at the watcher(s). In fact, he even provided a transition scene in "Beachcombers" and "Beach Havoc". 2ff7e9595c
